1989 Yamaha FZR 600
I've owned this bike for about 2 years now, and in the process have
put on about 2,000 miles. I don't think this is enough use to
justify ownership of this rocket, especially since I still have my
Suzuki Intruder.
First things first: this FZR is not for posers. While it
is in great running condition, it may need some help in the looks
department. This is the way I purchased it, and have thoroughly
enjoyed it even though it needs a replacement upper fairing (the current
one is discolored and cracked). This piece will run you $160, as
seen at: www.airtech-streamlining.com/yamaz/fzr600.htm
Or you could opt for the $750 R1 kit from Airtech, as seen here: www.airtech-streamlining.com/new%20pages/fzrr1.html
First thing I did when I bought it was get a tune up and put on some
new tires. What this means is that the tires on this bike have
less than 2k miles on them. The mechanic that performed the tune
up informed me that it has a Stage 3 Jet Kit installed. This bike
makes good power.
In any case, it's not perfect, but at this price, it's a steal!
